Riley Allen
Co-Founder
I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, once known for its oil and greenery (a bit of an oxymoron if you ask me). I left Tulsa to study at the University of Oklahoma Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts, gaining a technical skillset in film, photography, and 3D animation. After earning my Bachelor’s in Fine Arts, I wasn’t done with higher education and went on to Tufts University for my Master of Fine Arts.
Even with my MFA, I didn’t feel like I had mastered my craft (think of the 10,000-hour rule). So, I moved to New York City to focus on film. I worked at rental houses, learning about equipment and connecting with industry professionals. In my free time, I freelanced on set for some exciting clients where I got to work with and learn from many talented and seasoned individuals. The allure of being on set drew me in, and I eventually moved to Los Angeles to dive deeper into the film industry and continue my freelance work as a full-time venture.
In 2023, my wife and I returned to Tulsa to be closer to family, and together we launched Mischief & Co. Here we can operate beyond conventional titles, pursuing passions in film, photography, animation, design, and writing. We believe in the work we create and the products we deliver. I’ve always had a love for art. Growing up in Tulsa, I was always drawing or painting something. It was in my high school years that I began to dabble in photography and video. In college, I studied Art and Technology, graduating from The University of Oklahoma in 2016 with my Bachelor’s in Fine Arts.
After graduating, I started to admire graphic designers more and more—it seemed like a wonderful way to combine my traditional art background with my digital art degree. I decided to study graphic design at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology, and from there, an internship turned into a full-time gig.
On the side, I previously co-founded Cockatoo Creative Works (a small maker’s shop selling stickers, cards, apparel, and more), co-founded Foxrun Goods (a sustainable fashion shop), and I currently am in the process of developing Locals Only Magazine (a magazine focusing on celebrating local talent & businesses).
Specializing in page layout, with a passion for logo and branding design, I’ve spent my career in marketing departments where I’ve learned how to combine strategy with design. Over the years, I’ve worked with some incredibly talented people, and I’m lucky to call many of them my friends. In 2024, I’ve joined my husband full-time in our ventures with Mischief & Co.
