Established in 1936, Marmot Valley is a fictional state park known for wildflower-filled meadows, glacial lakes, and snow-capped peaks. Our challenge was to inspire younger audiences (between the ages of 18-35) to experience the park in person. We developed a playful, modern brand identity that will speak to their target audience, yet remain timeless.
The website and advertisements were designed using a combination of landscape photography and custom-built 3D environments to create a seamless blend of real and imagined worlds. Parts of the park’s beauty were concealed in each design, encouraging audiences to see the full picture in person. The campaign was anchored with two hero slogans:
• You Have Got to See This — teases the scenery, hinting that photos can’t capture it all.
• You Had to Be There! — delivered by a quirky mascot to give the brand personality.
The takeaway: Destination marketing doesn’t have to be serious or predictable. By combining playful design, modern branding, and a strategic “tease,” Marmot Valley feels like an adventure you can’t fully understand until you’re there.
